Coffee production in the Kirundo province of northeastern Burundi is driven by thousands of smallholder farmers rather than large estates. These family-owned micro-farms harvest coffee on high-altitude hills and bring their cherries to central washing stations.

  • Varietal: Dominated by high-quality Red Bourbon.
  • Process: Mostly fully washed using clean local river water.
