The Juru washing station is located in Rwanda, a country known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills." Coffee here is grown at altitudes of 1600–1900 meters on fertile volcanic soils. Local farmers bring their hand-picked cherries to the station, where they undergo strict sorting. Rwanda is known for its commitment to quality: investments in farmer training and the modernization of washing stations have allowed the country to enter the global premium specialty coffee market.
The Red Bourbon variety, which produces dense, sweet beans, dominates this region. For this lot, Washed processing was applied. The cherries are depulped, undergo fermentation, and are washed with clean water, after which the beans are dried on raised African beds. This allows for a transparent, clean profile with bright acidity and juicy notes of cherry, dark forest berries, and dried apricot.
